About Frosty Fight Club

An inclusive, beginner-friendly retro gaming community designed to bring the magic of the local arcade and console experience to the digital world — fighters, puzzle games, and classic arcade and console action. Everything up until the PS3 is more or less retro at this point.

/ Our Story

Frosty Fight Club (FFC) is an inclusive, "region-free" gaming community that organizes regular events and tournaments, with a strong emphasis on retro arcade and console titles — but not limited to fighting games.

After pandemic lockdowns, James G. Kennedy (known online as Mr.SilentChaos / TheSilentChaos) missed running local events and wanted to rebuild that "local scene" feeling online. He connected with LordSmeef, who shared the same passion for retro fighters and classic gaming. Together they co-founded what was initially called "Frosty Fights" in 2023, which evolved into Frosty Fight Club as the community grew beyond just fighting games.

Today, FFC is a welcoming, casual-competitive space where players of all skill levels can gather, learn, and compete. Whether you are a seasoned tournament veteran or picking up a controller for the very first time, FFC is your home for retro fighters, puzzle games, party games, and classic arcade and console action.

Operating primarily through our active Discord server, we utilize platforms like Fightcade 2 and Arkadyzja to connect players globally. We pride ourselves on maintaining a positive environment where the focus is on community, growth, and celebrating the legacy of classic games.

As the community grew, Thunderia — a well-known grassroots tournament organizer — joined forces with Frosty Fight Club. Their shared commitment to accessible competition and community-driven events made it a natural fit, and Thunderia Online Tournaments became part of the FFC family.

/ What Region-Free Means

Unlike traditional FGC communities built around geographic locals, FFC has no borders.

In the fighting game community, "locals" are the lifeblood of the scene — weekly meetups at arcades, gaming lounges, or community spaces where players gather to compete. But not everyone has access to a local scene. FFC bridges that gap by creating the same energy, camaraderie, and competition in a fully online space. No matter where you live — from Tokyo to Toronto, Lagos to London — you can be part of FFC.

Thunderia Legacy

Thunderia Online Tournaments are part of what we run and support. We keep the spirit of Thunderia going through our Grassroots Program, where people can learn to host their own events with our help.

Thunderia's original creator has since moved on to build a spiritual successor called Wolf Pack Squad, carrying forward the grassroots ethos in a new direction.
